State Fair
A few pictures to post from yesterday at the fair:

I rode the skyglider to get some "big picture" views. This overlooks the main street of the fairgrounds. It looks pretty busy now, but you should see it at 9 or 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Wall to wall people! The large building where the glider seems to end is the grandstand where the major concerts are (also some racing events and truck/tractor pulls)...

This guy is amazing -- he does these AWESOME sculptures with a chain saw!! I can barely manage to fell a tree without it landing on me, but he does all these sculptures (you can see several, and I'll try to get some more up-close pics) with nothing but various sizes of chain saws...

A small portion of the gazillion food stands on the fairgrounds...

Did I mention that you can buy just about anything on-a-stick???
Oh, and apparently yesterday was a popular day for presidential candidates to visit the Iowa state fair, according to the news this morning, Barack Obama was there, as well as John Edwards... I didn't see either one, but the news showed them both there!
