Deer Stand

Okay, so check out this Taj Mahal of deer stands! First picture is just getting started, hauling up the 2x4's and the ladder and tools and all that stuff.

Now, we've got the platform in place and Chuck is hoisting a Sprite to toast our success!

The finished product, back from the same vantage point as the first picture. Notice I've cleared away a bunch of the saplings to give you a clearer shot. Didn't remove as many as I wanted -- my chain saw locked up. Chuck took it apart and said the cam, or drive shaft, that turns the chain is frozen, seized up. So it will go to the shop for repair...

And the last picture is just a close-up of the finished condo. You can see we've placed the ladder behind the stand. It felt the most comfortable getting up onto the platform.

You can't really tell the size, but the platform is roughly 3 feet by 5 feet, and it's about 10 feet in the air. Sturdy as can be. I got up on it and it never even wiggled.

Phil -- it's all yours! Come on out!

WOW! That isn't just a tree stand. It could be considered a guest bedroom! Can I make breakfast and watch TV in the tree stand too?

:)

I told Chuck we were going to build a treehouse like the one in Swiss Family Robinson... Multiple levels, thatched roofs over each part...
