More from the practice rounds
Sorry I didn't get back to these while I was there... I'm home now and trying to finish out the things I want to say about this year's Open, so here we go!
A few more pics from the practice rounds...
Cristie Kerr, chipping... Cristie won the US Women's Open in 2007, and she was the leader this year after both the second and third rounds. Started the final round up by 2 strokes, and she was still in the lead when she passed the hole I was working on (#11). Sadly, though, she bogeyed the 13th and 16th holes, while EunHee Ji birdied #13, #14, AND #18 to win. Cristie finished tied for 3rd. She played marvelously, and I'm sure she'd like to have a couple of those putts to play over again.
Lorena Ochoa, getting ready to putt a few. In the practice rounds, they play each shot up to the green, then they play 4 or 5 balls, practicing to imaginary hole locations all over the green. The USGA changes the pin location each day, so they practice to get some feel for how the ball will break all over the green.
